Bleeding Brooch by 13-Zer0 Bleeding Brooch by 13-Zer0
So so pleased with this. A macabre but totally elegant statement piece.

The key to getting this look was using 6 different types of stones, in 4 shades of red. Even though the effect is subtle, layering the different colours and textures I was able to create a dripping and congealing effect.
The faceted stone in the middle is glass, a piece from a cheap old cocktail ring that went rusty. Then there's a mixture of garnets, swarovskis, and a couple of other small glass beads.
I assembled the piece on a sheet of acetate and then simply cut away the excess plastic to leave the brooch with a fairly inconspicuous clear backing.
