I chose this picture to upload because it shows the back of my dress, and the silver hair-clip, which you can't really see in the group photo I put up before.

May I ask what you used?

The blue part is made of lace, which I dyed, cut to shape and then backed with thin acetate plastic for stiffness.
The silver part is actually made of thin craft foam, with textured added using that 3D fabric paint stuff and then embellished with various plastic gems.
It was fiddly work, but some of the cheapest parts of the costume! lol
